Paul Horn, LMHC
The journey to effective change begins where you are. It is important to realize that this is only one chapter of your life, and you have the choice on how your future chapters will be written.
I truly believe that real change is achieved when you can recognize and accept your current situation, “It Is What It Is” (usually a mixture of comfort and discontent). Identifying and utilizing your strengths as building blocks for change is where our journey begins. I work with both individuals and couples, ages 18 years and older. My goal is to help you embrace and work through your struggle, be it with mood/emotion regulation, anxiety, relationship conflict, issues with grief or loss, or simply identifying and cultivating the sources of a deeper happiness in your life.
I am a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I received my Master’s of Science in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. I have had the privilege to work in a community based mental health facility, which offered the opportunity to work with a lot of wonderful clients. I gained experience and insight into a diverse population with a vast array of mental health/life issues. I have experience with Individual Therapy; Crisis/Trauma; Crisis Intervention; Life Skills; Psych education; Chronic and Persistent diagnosed clients; and dual diagnosis. Additionally, I hold an MA in Human Resource Management; and retired from the Navy after 28 years of service, which allows me to bring additional perspective and experience to the table.
